If we’ve set up a meeting for you, things are obviously going well. It means the Sales Development Representatives are promoting your product or service in the right way and the Business Development Managers are doing their jobs too. This is an exciting moment and perhaps even more so if this is your first time scaling to a new territory. Regardless of whether it’s your first time or not though, this is a positive step forward and is proof that your product or service is starting to gain traction in a new market.
As the meeting approaches, Aexus are obviously as keen as you are for it to be a success and that is why we will do everything in our power to properly prepare and make sure that there are no surprises waiting in the wings. With this in mind, we’ve developed a meeting preparation template to check all the details and give the appointment every chance of having the desired outcome. The very first thing we do though is confirm the meeting with the partner and make sure that the date is firmly in their calendar. Immediately after this, we start working on the preparation documents. These documents are of vital importance as they contain all of the information you’ll need to know, or at least have to hand, for the meeting. So, when we show you the template, you’ll see that we’re looking for quite a bit of detail. First off, we want to make a note of who booked the meeting, what is the date of the meeting and where is it taking place. Remember that this may not be a physical, face-to-face meeting, as it may be held virtually on platforms such as Microsoft Teams, Google Meet or Zoom. And, if it is being held virtually, we will of course find out if there is a time zone issue. On top of this we’ll want to put down the names of everyone who is going to be attending the meeting from both the partner’s team and the prospect’s team, along with their contact details, direct dial numbers and LinkedIn profiles.
Up until now, you may have considered all of the information we give you to be rather standard but we do go further to add real value. That means that we will give you a full rundown on the prospect’s company, including things such as the company’s website, headcount, main business drivers, location and any relevant company news that has appeared in trade publications or other forms of media. In addition to this, we will also give you full contact reports on what interactions we have had with the prospect whether it was over the phone, through email or on LinkedIn. These contact reports are important for you as they’ll give you an indication of what has already been discussed, what are the relevant topics for the prospect and what their expectations are regarding what they want to take away from this meeting.
Forewarned is forearmed as the saying goes and with this level of insights, we believe you are now fully prepared for any meeting. However, if you would like, it can be arranged for an Aexus representative to come to the meeting with you to help with introductions, cultural differences, language barriers or even leading the meeting in terms of the agenda.
If you’d like to work with Aexus and enjoy this level of service for every meeting we set up for you, get in touch. We’re always happy to jump on a call.
