We all know that there is no specific educational route into becoming a Sales Development Representative. That doesn\u2019t mean that just anyone can do it though. It requires life skills, soft skills, some things self-learnt and some things taught. Above all else though, having a belief in yourself and a desire to get the job done, even when it seems like the world is against you, is essential. This is the character and inner confidence we look for. Of course, our SDRs all have these qualities in abundance but despite the common traits, they are all individuals, and they all found their own route here. That\u2019s why we thought now was the time to gain a greater insight into some of our brightest stars.    <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professional Philosophy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My philosophy encourages me to step out of my comfort zone. That\u2019s kind of important for an SDR. I\u2019m perhaps a little more introverted than some of my colleagues but I never shirk a challenge and pride myself on being able to rise to the occasion. I have a marketing background and that helps a lot. Having a creative mindset helps me to write proposals that are well received as our partners appreciate the thought and effort that is put into seeing the bigger picture. It probably goes without saying, but that helps with prospects too. This serves as a real confidence booster for me though and can probably be credited to my journey so far. I\u2019ve studied internationally, and worked with companies of every size, from global concerns to start-ups. There\u2019s no doubt that international experience is an absolute bonus for an SDR. This is particularly true at Aexus. With such an international company it makes life easier if you can appreciate other cultures, can work in a prospect\u2019s language or at least respect the lived experiences of those in other environments. If you have been lucky enough to have had the opportunity and experiences I\u2019ve had, it will stand you in good stead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the things I really like about Aexus is that I am able to learn and progress quickly and as a professional satisfaction point, I feel that I am making a real difference for my clients. For one of my recent partners, I was really growing their network and helping them. I know if I can keep doing this, I will get my chance and be able to move up the ladder.
